Maximum Ride Series Review

Welcome back! If you made it this far into the second article, that means, my last article didn’t bore you to death! Back to the topic, Maximum Ride: School’s Out Forever. The second book starts off with the flock flying around New York. The dog Total is with them (of course) and they try to go under cover. However Max has a tracking chip that she found out about in the first book. Now the Erasers and Ari have found the flock and they are in deep trouble. As Max, Iggy and Gazzy hold off the Erasers, Angel struggles to keep Total safe, and Fang runs into Ari. Ari ends up slashing Fang deep in his stomach, and falls. Ari and the other Erasers fly back to the “School.”

Max and the other flock members rush to help Fang and see if he is okay. Fang ends up almost bleeding to death, until a random stranger sees him and calls and ambulance. At the hospital, Max donates her blood (and it must be her blood because they are both avian hybrids) and is served food from someone who works at the school, Annie Walker. Annie claims that she is not some scientist and takes in the flock as their “mom.”

Later on Annie announces that they are now going to an actual school with books and stuff. Most of the flock is not happy about this however, Annie convinces them that it’s for the greater good. During the classes the flock makes friends and lives happy normal-ish life. Max and the flock thank her for a chance at normal life by practicing flying and putting on aerial shows for her. However the next day during school Ari shows up and almost destroys the school. Max gathers everyone and they jump out the window, and realize that most of the teachers are Erasers in disguise. Max rushes the flock to Annie’s house where they find out that Annie Walker is the boss of Jeb (one of the “School” Scientists). From there on they learned not to trust anyone, and go back on the run.

Stay tuned for the next book review, Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports.
